{"id":12884,"date":"2026-03-25T12:47:59","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T11:47:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/liap.eu\/?p=12884"},"modified":"2026-04-09T11:36:19","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T09:36:19","slug":"open-call-mozambique","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/liap.eu\/index.php\/2026\/03\/25\/open-call-mozambique\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Call Mozambique"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>OPEN CALL FOR VISUAL ARTISTS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One visual arts residency in Leipzig \/ Germany on reflections on democracy by an artist with Mozambique nationality<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LIA-Leipzig International Art Programme would like to invite one artist (painter, photographer, graphic; video; installation or sound artist) from Mozambique for a three months residency exchange in Leipzig Germany, November 2026 &#8211; January 2027. This programme, funded by the Federal Foreign Office, seeks to encourage artistic and societal engagement with the history and contemporary relevance of democracies for today\u2019s societies. Leipzig having played a major role in the peaceful revolution and the Fall of the Wall in 1989 could be taken here as a departure point and useful resource to conduct a project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The Leipzig International Art Programme LIA (https:\/\/liap.eu\/index.php\/category\/reports\/) is an international artist in<br>residency programme located at the Spinnerei Leipzig (www.spinnerei.de), a former cotton mill and now cultural<br>hub. LIA focuses on being a place for experiment and learning within a strong local artist community and a city rich of<br>traditions. Local and international artists have an impact on each other while exchanging cultural experiences they are<br>shifting the gaze. The founder of LIA, Anna-Louise Rolland, states, \u201cat LIA, we believe that moving outside of our comfort zone leads to new perspectives opening up. International visual artists working together with professional musicians, public space and institutions like museums fits perfectly into this philosophy and this type of collaboration<br>leads to new approaches being developed and new kinds of artistic exchanges taking place\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Key information<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>free accommodation in an 83 square meter furnished studio incl. curated group show in the residency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>coverage of travel and flight, visa and health insurance costs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>fellowship 800,00 \u20ac per month<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>curatorial advice by LIA director Anna-Louise Rolland<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>group show January 2027 during the Spinnerei Rundgang\/ Gallery Tour www.spinnerei.de<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>residency dates: November 2nd, 2026, to January 28th, 2027<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note the artist must speak a comprehensible English.
