In August and September this year three artists from Leipzig’s partner city Cracow were guests in LIA: Karolina Jab\u0142o\u0144ska<\/a>, Tomasz Kr\u0119cicki<\/a> and Cyryl Polaczek<\/a> – directors of the artist’s run space POTENCJA.<\/span> On the occasion of the gallery tour of SpinnereiGalleries<\/a> on September 8 and 9, 2018, they gave insights into their current artistic projects and show paintings that will be produced during their residency in Leipzig. In November 2018, all artists from Cracow and Leipzig who participated in the mutual exchange project, were presented in the final exhibition called “New Perspectives – Leipzig meets Cracow” that took place at the Spinnerei archiv massiv.

In April 2018, the two artists from Leipzig, Sebastian G\u00f6gel<\/a> and Maria Schumacher<\/a>, were invited to work for one month in the partner city of Cracow.<\/span> Sebastian G\u00f6gel could use the historic studio of Polish painter Stanis\u0142aw Wyspia\u0144ski;<\/span> Maria Schumacher acquired the opportunity to work at the Academy of Fine Arts, department for animation, <\/span>to receive impulses for her work on an experimental animated film. to receive impulses for her work on an experimental animated film in the animation department there. This exchange is a project of the Polish curator Aleksandra Janz and Laura Bierau (LIA), supported by the City of Leipzig (Department of International Cooperation), by the City of Krakow, by the Art Agenda Nova Gallery, Cracow and the Leipzig Spinning Mill.<\/span><\/p>\n
