Kooperationsprojekt mit STAL Gallery und Deutsch-Omanischer Gesellschaft: Rawan AlMahrouqi und Riham Noor sind zu Gast im LIA<\/h4>\n

Zum dritten Mal waren K\u00fcnstler zu Gast im LIA, die von der STAL Gallery<\/a> (Muscat, Sultanat Oman) sowie von der Deutsch-Omanischen Gesellschaft<\/a> (Berlin\/Leipzig) unterst\u00fctzt wurden. Die STAL Gallery f\u00f6rdert junge K\u00fcnstlerinnen und K\u00fcnstler des Landes und bietet, als einzige Einrichtungen ihrer Art, regelm\u00e4\u00dfig M\u00f6glichkeiten f\u00fcr Ausstellungen und Kunstvermittlung in der Hauptstadt Omans.<\/p>\n

Durch die intensivierte Zusammenarbeit von STAL Gallery und der Deutsch-Omanischen Gesellschaft k\u00f6nnen in diesem Jahr zwei K\u00fcnstlerinnen nach Leipzig kommen: Riham Noor<\/a> und Rawan AlMahrouqi<\/a>. Riham startete bereits im Oktober ihre zweimonatige Residenz im LIA. Sie ist eine junge Konzeptk\u00fcnstlerin, die zuletzt mit Installationen arbeitete. Au\u00dferdem f\u00fchrte sie viele kreative Workshops mit syrischen Gefl\u00fcchteten in verschiedenen europ\u00e4ischen L\u00e4ndern durch. In Leipzig konzentrierte sie sich auf ihr urspr\u00fcngliches Medium Malerei, welche sie in Paris studierte und kreierte eine Serie abstrakter Gem\u00e4lde, die sich mit dem Thema Balance auseinandersetzen.\u00a0 Rawan ist eine multidisziplin\u00e4re K\u00fcnstlerin, die in Leipzig einige ihrer Projekte weiter entwickeln wollte . In ihre Serie gro\u00dfformatiger Illustrationen setzt sie sich beispielsweise mit der gesellschaftlichen Rolle und den Identit\u00e4ten von Frauen im Oman auseinander und stellt dabei bestehende Traditionen zur Debatte. W\u00e4hrend ihres einmonatigen Aufenthalts im November suchte Rawan m\u00f6glichst viel Inspiration f\u00fcr ihre eigens gegr\u00fcndete Kunstschule Makan Studios in Muscat und Austausch mit anderen K\u00fcnstlern.<\/p>\n

Beginn und Entwicklung der Kooperation<\/h4>\n

Die Kooperation mit der STAL Gallery in Muscat, Sultanat Oman begann 2016, auf Empfehlung des Goethe-Instituts der Golfregion, mit der K\u00fcnstlerin Raiya Al Rawahi<\/a> und wurde 2018 mit Abdulrahim AlKendi<\/a> fortgef\u00fchrt. Neben dem K\u00fcnstleraustausch f\u00f6rdert die Galerie vor allem die Produktion, Wertsch\u00e4tzung und das Engagement der bildenden Kunst in allen Medien in Muscat und der Region. Die STAL Gallery bietet auch eine eigene K\u00fcnstlerresidenz f\u00fcr nationale und internationale K\u00fcnstler in Muscat, verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber eine Bibliothek und organisiert verschiedene Arten von Workshops. Riham Noor und Rawan AlMahrouqi sind seit 2015 Teil der Galerie und eines wachsenden K\u00fcnstlerkreises, der von der Galerie unterst\u00fctzt wird. Der Austausch mit Leipzig soll ausgew\u00e4hlten K\u00fcnstlern die M\u00f6glichkeit geben, mit anderen internationalen K\u00fcnstlern in Kontakt zu kommen, ein eigenes Kunstprojekt zu entwickeln und mehr \u00fcber die deutsche Kultur und die Stadt Leipzig zu erfahren.<\/p>\n

Wir danken insbesondere dem Leiter der STAL Gallery, Hassan Meer, f\u00fcr sein Engagement und die Zusammenarbeit und freuen uns auf weitere K\u00fcnstler aus Oman im kommenden Jahr.<\/p>\n

Herzlicher Dank geht ebenso an Dr. Wolfgang Zimmermann, Pr\u00e4sident der Deutsch-Omanischen Gesellschaft, f\u00fcr seine Unterst\u00fctzung der K\u00fcnstler und die Erm\u00f6glichung die Partnerschaft zwischen LIA und der Deutsch-Omanischen Gesellschaft. Die Nichtregierungsorganisation hat die Aufgabe, den Kontakt zwischen den B\u00fcrgern und Akteuren beider L\u00e4nder in verschiedenen Bereichen, einschlie\u00dflich der Kultur, zu st\u00e4rken.<\/p>\n
