www.michelleeistrup.com<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Michelle Eistrup ist eine bildende K\u00fcnstlerin, die haupts\u00e4chlich in den Bereichen Video, Fotografie und Ton arbeitet. Sie ist in Jamaika, Paris und New York aufgewachsen und wohnt derzeit mit ihrer Familie in D\u00e4nemark. Sie hat einen MFA von der Royal Academy of Arts in Kopenhagen und einen BA vom Haverford College, Pennsylvania. In ihrer Praxis erforscht sie die Geschichte, die Hinterlassenschaften und die Leugnung\/Abwesenheit des Kolonialismus anhand von vier \u00fcbergreifenden Themen: Identit\u00e4t und Ausdruck der afrikanischen Diaspora, Politik der Anerkennung, Dynamik des Isolationismus und verk\u00f6rperte Riten und Rituale. Sie ist in einer pulsierenden globalen Kunstszene verwurzelt, hat international ausgestellt und BAT, Bridging Art and Text, kuratiert.
\nW\u00e4hrend ihres Aufenthaltes in Leipzig wird Michelle ihre Forschungen aus ihrem fr\u00fcheren Projekt In the Deep Underground and Up Above fortf\u00fchren und die Stalagmiten-Suspensionstherapie – In the Stone entwickeln. Eistrup wird mit dem Terra Mineralia Institut, Bergakademie Freiberg, zusammenarbeiten. Ein Teil dieser Untersuchung wird n\u00e4chstes Jahr in der Ausstellung Sprachlosigkeit im Japanischen Palais ausgestellt, die von L\u00e9ontine Meijer-van Mensch, Direktorin, und Barbara H\u00f6ffe, Kuratorin der Staatlichen Kunstsammlungen Dresden, kuratiert wird. In Zukunft werden In the Deep Underground and Up Above und Stalagmite Suspension Therapy – In the Stalagmite – In the Stone zu einem noch zu best\u00e4tigenden Termin im Terra Mineralia Institute, Freiberg, ausgestellt werden. In the Deep Underground and Up Above wurde bereits in Australien, in der AGWA, der National Gallery of Western Australia und im ArtGeo Cultural Institute, Busselton, gezeigt.<\/p>\n
