Zeitraum:<\/strong> August – Oktober 2022<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freshwoyen Endrias Feyissa (geb. 1988 in Addis Abeba) studiert derzeit im zweiten Jahr Bildende Kunst und im dritten Jahr Lederwaren am Entoto Polytechnic College. Zuvor studierte sie an der Zewditu Fashion Design School, wo sie an Modeschauen teilnahm und ihre eigenen Kreationen entwarf. Im Januar 2016 nahm sie an der African Mosaique Fashion Show teil und belegte den ersten Platz im Wettbewerb. Leider wurden Freshwoyen und ihre Familie kurz nach diesem \u00fcberw\u00e4ltigenden Erfolg von einem tragischen Schicksalsschlag getroffen. Danach verlor sie sich selbst und wurde von Depressionen heimgesucht; acht Monate lang war sie wie gel\u00e4hmt, und selbst eine Therapie konnte die Dunkelheit nicht vertreiben. In diesem Moment beschloss sie, so viel wie m\u00f6glich zu studieren und zu lernen, um sich abzulenken, ihren Geist zu besch\u00e4ftigen und ihn mit anderen Gedanken zu f\u00fcllen. Schlie\u00dflich wurde die Kunst selbst zur Therapie und z\u00fcndete ein Licht an, das den Nebel der Trauer zu durchdringen vermochte. Freshwoyen ist hier in Leipzig als Gewinnerin des Wettbewerbs \u00fcber die beiden Partnerst\u00e4dte Leipzig und Addis Abeba. W\u00e4hrend ihres Aufenthalts wird die K\u00fcnstlerin das Projekt zur Realisierung einer von ihr entworfenen Skulptur auf dem Addis-Abeba-Platz in Leipzig leiten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
