Lee Paje bedient sich sorgf\u00e4ltig ausgew\u00e4hlter Materialien und Formen wie Malerei auf Leinwand und Kupfer, Skulptur, Druckgrafik, Video und Installation im \u00f6ffentlichen Raum, um Werke zu schaffen, die sich mit Unabh\u00e4ngigkeit, Individualit\u00e4t und Identit\u00e4ten besch\u00e4ftigen. Ihre visuellen Erz\u00e4hlungen zeigen alternative Realit\u00e4ten, die die Aufmerksamkeit auf die Zw\u00e4nge der Geschlechterungleichheit lenken. Sie verschr\u00e4nkt zeitgen\u00f6ssische Lebensstile mit der Starrheit vergangener Traditionen. Einmal aufgedeckt, sind ihre Kompositionen voller scheinbar pers\u00f6nlicher Anekdoten, die sich jedoch tats\u00e4chlich auf soziale, kulturelle und historische Kommentare erstrecken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lee schloss ihr Studium der Studio-Kunst am College of Fine Arts der University of the Philippines Diliman mit magna cum laude ab. Ihre Videoarbeit Sit In My Retina (2009) wurde mit dem Dominador Casta\u00f1eda Award f\u00fcr die herausragendste Abschlussarbeit der Hochschule ausgezeichnet. 2014 wurde sie f\u00fcr die Young Artist Discovery Section der Art Taipei in Taipeh, Taiwan, ausgew\u00e4hlt und 2018 gewann ihr Beitrag “Passage to the Land of Sugar” f\u00fcr den Don Papa Rum-Kunstwettbewerb den Grand Prize und den People’s Choice Award. Im selben Jahr war sie auch Artist-in-Residence bei Art Omi (Gent, NY). Erst k\u00fcrzlich wurden ihre gro\u00dfformatigen Werke im Rahmen der 10. Asien-Pazifik-Triennale f\u00fcr zeitgen\u00f6ssische Kunst im QAGOMA in Australien ausgestellt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
