Hannah Stahl
Born in 1989 in Providence, Rhode Island, Hannah Stahl is a 2015 M.F.A. candidate at the New York Academy of Art. Stahl’s current body of work, “Index, Women of Auschwitz,” is on display at Space 204 Gallery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville Tennessee through February 7th, 2014.  Her work has also been exhibited at The New York Academy of Art in New York, NY (2014, 2013), The Fowler-Kellogg Art Center in Chautauqua, NY (2012), The Hutton Hotel in Nashville, TN (2012-2014), and Cummins Station in Nashville, TN (2011), among others. After a seven-week Artist-In-Residence program in 2012 at The School of Art at Chautauqua Institution, Stahl’s two-month grant-funded solo trip to seventeen cities in Europe -– including three Holocaust concentration camps –- lead her to produce her series of ten portraits based on female victims of Auschwitz. Her work has been recently featured in The Huffington Post, Nashville Arts Magazine, I Acknowledge, The Nashville Scene, The Tennessean, and The Jamestown Press. EDUCATION
