“Nordic-Leipzig” stipendiary of the Goethe-Institut
I am a Finnish multidisciplinary artist working on the fields of visual art, sound, music and, lately, game design. For the past 8 years I’ve been involved in digital technology, working with video, sound and other medias. Currently I am preparing a piece for an exhibition presenting new works on the area of virtual and augmented reality platforms. I am working on an augmented reality platform which enables the viewer to scan a printed image with his/her smartphone and interact with the material the portal opens for the user.
During my possible residency period in Lepizig, I would like to work on the subject of combining these two worlds, now that the option is finally available. Producing works with the techniques of metal and woodcut printmaking, making the unique, or uniform, print accessible digitally, opening another world for the viewer. This can be done in practise by combining the handmade and printed technologies available, using computer-generated codes, known as targets, hidden in the otherwise hand made work.
