The Open call is for all professional artists based in Skåne who wish to take up a 3-month residency at Spinnerei Leipzig, starting in February 2025.

Konstforum i Skane and Region Skane, in partnership with the Goethe-Institut and Leipzig International Art Programme (LIA), are inviting proposals from Skane-based professional artists who wish to take up a three-month residency programme in Leipzig (DE). LIA is a non-profit residency programme at the Spinnerei Leipzig, a former cotton mill that has been transformed into a unique creative space hosting studios, galleries, a communal arts centre, a cinema, and various businesses. The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany, active in Sweden since 1963. Konstforum I Skäne works to strengthen the regional art field by offering concrete tools to all those who in any way works with art.
The residency includes:
- Free accommodation in a furnished 83 m2 studio
- Bursary towards travel and production costs 750 €
- Participation in weekly etching workshops at the Maria & Vlado Ondrej Studio for Contemporary Etching Participation in a curated group show during the Spinnerei Gallery Tour
- Curatorial advice by LIA-founder Anna-Louise Rolland
Residency dates: 3 February 2025 – 5 May 2025. In order to participate in the residency you have to be present in Leipzig throughout the entire programme.
Application must comprise the following:
- An expression of interest (500 words max.) explaining the project you wish to develop and what interests you about working at the Spinnerei Leipzig
- A CV or biography stating number of years of professional art practice, exhibitions and educational background.
- Up to 6 images or video/audio links of your work.
Applications must be sent in English as one single pdf file to _marina.diaz@liap.eu, assistent@liap.eu, Judith.mirschberger@goethe.de and redaktor@konstforumiskane.se with the subject line “Open Call Konstforum i Skảne”.
Application deadline: 1st November, 12 pm ECT. Successful applicants will be notified in December.
