Jaee Tee

Jaee Tee (b. Malaysia) is a visual artist whose dreamlike abstractions
respond to a world in constant flux, revealing the tension between human
presence and forces larger than oneself. Her work evokes spatial depth
and atmospheric qualities of misty horizons, flowing water, wind, and
reflections as metaphors for systems beyond human control. Central to
her practice is negative space, treated as a living, breathing field
that allows gestures and materials to engage in dialogue and invites
viewers into a meditative encounter. Some of her work incorporates
pigments, ash, and other natural materials gathered from the land,
carrying memory and time. These materials resist, transform, and act
unpredictably, allowing her to negotiate between control and surrender
and giving the material an agency of its own.

Term: March – April
