Vibeke Frost Andersen (Norway), Maja Gade Christensen (Denmark) and Tanja Koljonen (Finland) were the first three Nordic-Leipzig scholarship holders who stayed in LIA from November 2018 to January 2019. From February to April 2019 the artists of the sencond round of the “Nordic-Leipzig” grant will stay in Leipzig: Tuukka Haapakorpi (Finland), Conny Karlsson Lundgren (Sweden), Bjargey Olafsdottir (Iceland). Additionally, from March to May 2019, Anna Taina Nielson (Denmark) and in May 2019, Michelle Eistrup (Denmark), will join the Nordic-Leipzig artists in Leipzig. Both are also supported by the Goethe-Institut.
The gallery below documents the stay of the first three “Nordic-Leipzig” artists in Leipzig, from November 2018 to January 2019. Part of the scholarship is the work in the Etching Studio Leipzig, in cooperation with artist Maria Ondrej, whereby the scholarship holders have the opportunity to experiment with the printing technique etching and to develop an own work.In addition, the exploration of the city and art scene of Leipzig and the region, a presentation as part of the LIA group exhibition during the Spinnerei Gallery Tour and visits of guest critics and art-interested guests in the studios, are part of the program in LIA.
