The Satellite Residency program One-Month LIA Residency Fellowship in Leipzig for Israeli Artists – May 2025
Art knows no borders, acting as a universal language that can connect cultures, ideas, and histories. To mark the 60 years of diplomatic relations between Germany and Israel, we are proud to introduce the “Satellite” Residency Program—a bi-cultural initiative.
The Embassy of Israel in Berlin, the Office for the Foreign Affairs City of Leipzig, The Artists’ Residence Herzliya, and LIA-Leipzig International Art Programme invite Israeli visual artists to apply for a one-month residency in Leipzig, Germany for May 2025.
About the Program
The Leipzig International Art Programme (LIA) is an international artist residency located at the Spinnerei Leipzig (www.spinnerei.de), a former cotton mill transformed into a vibrant cultural hub. LIA serves as a space for experimentation and learning within Leipzig’s dynamic artist community. The program facilitates meaningful exchanges between local and international artists, fostering new perspectives through cultural interaction.
As Anna-Louise Rolland, LIA’s founder, explains: “At LIA, we believe that moving outside our comfort zone opens up new perspectives. International visual artists collaborating with professional musicians, public spaces, and institutions like museums embodies this philosophy, leading to innovative approaches and unique artistic exchanges.”
