Artists Hugo Hernqvist and Erlend Rødsten will share insights into their artistic practices and their experiences from the residency at the Leipzig International Art Programme in Spinnerei, Leipzig. LIA’s director Anna-Louise Rolland will be present to talk about the residency and the former cotton mill Spinnerei Leipzig, which today houses hundreds of artists, studios, and galleries, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. We will also hear some words from the Goethe-Institut. Finally, we’ll discuss the collaboration: How can we strengthen cooperation when resources are limited? What can a place like Spinnerei offer to artists—individually and collectively—and to the cultural ecosystem in the city as a whole?
