Dahlberg’s parents are from the Kipsigiss tribe; she settled in the Netherlands in 1978 and studied at the Minerva Academy in Groningen from 1997 to 2001. Her social media activity is an integral part of her artistic practice. There, she posts her own photos (including selfies, for which she prefers to use the term “otofoto”), “found” photos, and texts. Social, aesthetic, and political critique are natural tools of her practice. Her vital and powerful work (sculptures, installations, collages, photographs, and texts) is imbued with sensory, erotic energy. Characteristic of her work are the art-historical references she links to her own biography. In doing so, she has developed her own visual language that she interweaves with how she lives and experiences life.
