Cam Gill

Cam Gill is an emerging artist from Melbourne, Australia. Gill's recent work embraces the unreal and imagined. His work depicts figures floating through strange landscapes, altered realities, scenes familiar and yet strange. Through the act of collaging his photographs into new arrangements and the physical act of creating paintings and prints from these collages, the original source material is somewhat abandoned and the image takes on a new life of its own, celebrating the happy mistake that leads paintings toward abstraction.

Camila Rocha

"I was born in Contagem, a small city in Minas Gerais, Brazil. My family work as missionaries in the region. Due to my lack of resources to finance my studies, I began working as a Tattoo Artist 14 years ago, a professional carrier that allowed me to pursue and support my carrier as a  Fine Artist. I moved to Sao Paulo to study Art in 2004, and in 2009 moved to the USA. For the past four years I have been dedicating my life to the study of painting techniques in a figurative and representational form sense. Primarily I started my studies at the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art, California, where I was awarded a scholarship for the Undergraduate program.   My intentions was to explore many of the traditional and modern methods, which helped me gain skills and confidence to enter to a masters program.  My goal is to develop technical skills as painter while simultaneously developing the conceptual basis for my work. Although working in a representational vain, I hope to engage in contemporary dialog, in a manner that is relevant in this Post-Modern epoch of Art History. The opportunity of being in the Leipzig residency will be a time to evaluate the journey of my first academic year of the Masters Program at NYAA (New York Academy of Art), work on new pieces based on the concept I intent to explore. At the same time enjoying and experiencing a cultural atmosphere that the city and the occasion have to offer."

Stefan Dunlop

lives and works in Brisbane, Australia. Dunlop about his work: "I paint with a genuine awareness that the medium has a magnificent (and at times clichéd) history. My paintings work with and respect this tradition. But they also subvert it. Works such as The Industrialist combine the archetypes of the still life, the portrait and the landscape. They are the result of a melding of traditional western genres into single works. I see the narrative in this painting as playful and suggestive of folly. In essence all of my works are an attempt to reinforce the notion that painting is still a possibility in the 21sy century."

Frankie Morgan

born in  Sydney, Australia, she lives and works in Sydney and Berlin. She studied at National Art School, Sydney. Frankie Morgan digs into the familiar and mundane in order to question our ideas of beauty. Morgan charts the urban forces of change; earthmovers, public works, garbage bins and the people who live and work in the city. She is inspired by cities as sites of human innovation but also as the source of invisible forces exerted upon humans in daily urban life. Morgan's recurring motif of the earthmover excavates both the urban world and the canvas as an artist’s work site. A site in which to dig deep into the experience of existence.
