I think about art as a living, walking, talking entity— a creative force that reveals itself in many complex and curious forms. One of the most riveting aspects of this entity is the people who make it come alive. The conversations generated on and off the canvas, and the investigation into what propels artists to create what they do are endless sources of wonder to me. Being in New York City has taught me that unravelling the mysteries of material fluency is best achieved by observing great art in the flesh.
