Alexander Barton

born in New Jersey in 1982. After receiving his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2004 he was awarded an artist’s residency at the Cooper Union School of Art in 2006. In May of 2012 Barton will have achieved his MFA in Painting from the New York Academy of Art in New York City, as a President’s Scholar. As an emerging artist informed by the demands of American
popular culture and moral traditions, Barton consistently exhibits and practices these ideas of social discontent in New York City.
